History of Kamado BBQs
The Kamado barbeque has a rich and long history that dates back thousands of years. The exact origin of the Kamado is unclear, but it is believed to have originated in the Far East, specifically in Japan and China. The ancient Kamado was made from clay and used as a traditional stove for cooking and heating.
In Japan, the Kamado was known as a "mushikamado," which translates to "charcoal stove." It was used to cook rice and other dishes, and its unique design made it possible to control the temperature precisely. The Kamado was also used for traditional tea ceremonies, as the heat was carefully controlled to heat the water to the perfect temperature.
The Kamado eventually made its way to the United States in the mid-20th century, and it became a popular appliance for outdoor cooking. Early American Kamado BBQs were made from ceramic material, which made them heavy and difficult to move around. However, they were known for their durability and ability to hold heat and moisture, making them ideal for slow-cooking meats.
Today, Kamado BBQ are still popular, and they are widely used for outdoor cooking and smoking and come with lots of advanced features. The CharDaddy is one such brand. Made from muillite ceramic which can withstand temperatures up to 1000°C meaning high temperature cooking is no problem for the CharDaddy. Not only this but the thick walls also allow for heat to be easily retained making slow cooking possible too. Equipped with many other advanced features, such as temperature controlling air vents, a built in thermometer and easy manoeuvrability, the CharDaddy is a great choice for any outdoor space.

How do I use a CharDaddy?
Fill the firebox of your CharDaddy, bury a few firelighters and light them. After 10-15 minutes the coals around the firelighters will be hot and can be spread out. Close the lid and the CharDaddy comes into it's own.
The top and bottom vents allow you to regulate the airflow which allows you to raise or lower the temperature of the CharDaddy. Open them to raise the temperature, close them to lower the temperature.
Your CharDaddy designed to be used with the lid closed, even when cooking burgers and sausages! So always remember to open the lid slowly while standing to the side.
After you have finished cooking, close the vents fully. The coals will cool quickly, although the BBQ itself will take a bit of time to cool, but left over charcoal can be kept for your next CharDaddy cooking session.
What can I cook on my CharDaddy?
Anything that can be cooked in an oven or on a grill can potentially be cooked on a CharDaddy. From burgers to pizza, bread to ribs, whole chicken to halloumi kebabs with a few accessories the possibilities are endless.
